where the wild things are

I remember the first time I read this book. I was scared, tired, sad, frustrated at some extent. After having studied it I started to love it and after having worked on it I just kind of forgot it. Then, 3 years later, I found it at a store in NYC. I saw it and I started freaking out. Then I calmed down again. I wished I had it right now to tell to my children.
I wonder why you discover life close to someone and then life discovers you far from everything. I also wonder if you can make life everywhere you go or if it is just life who makes you ... and if you are not there you just miss it. Am I missing anything?
